Poetry of Light: SNAP Opening Reception & Poetry Reading April 15
Scarritt Bennett Center, Nashville’s historic mid-town conference and retreat center, will host an artists’ reception and poetry reading on April 15th, in the Laskey Art Gallery. Come celebrate our exhibit of new photographs from the artists of the Society of Nashville Artistic Photographers (SNAP) entitled Poetry of Light, listen to work from some of Nashville’s favorite poets and enjoy some light refreshments.
Mark Scala, Frist Art Museum Chief Curator selected 39 images from a total of 24 artists that comprise this special show in honor of National Poetry Month.
“This exhibit brings to light the extraordinary talent of Nashville’s photographic community”, shared Pat Hollander, SNAP exhibitor and show coordinator.
Each month Scarritt Bennett Center promotes poetry through programs on its campus. Visual arts and poetry lovers are encouraged to attend this unique opportunity because the occasion combines the creativity of photographers and poetry from local writers with a program during the reception beginning at 7pm in the gallery.
All are welcome to the SNAP artists’ reception and Poet’s Corner. Both are free events, and you may park for free in Scarritt Bennett Lot A, just off the Laskey Welcome Center, which will house the reception and readings.
The Poetry of Light exhibit will open on April 5th and continue through the end of May.
