Scarritt Bennett Welcomes Jean-Marie as new Director of Racial Justice Ministries

NASHVILLE, Tenn., June 25, 2019 – Scarritt Bennett Center welcomes Cherisna Jean-Marie as Director of Racial Justice Ministries, a new position at the Center.

Rev. Jean-Marie brings 10 years of university and church-based leadership to the position. Previously she served as the Dean of Chapel at Bethany College in Bethany, West Virginia. Jean-Marie hold a B.A from Kean University and an M.Div from Vanderbilt University.

“We’re excited to have Cherisna join our team,” stated Sarah Wilke, Scarritt Bennett Center’s Executive Director. “Her depth of experience and passion for equality and justice will enhance the Center’s work in this critical area at this especially critical time.”

“The work of racial justice is one that is communal and urgent,” Jean-Marie said. “I am happy to join Scarritt Bennett Center in doing such work nationwide.”
