YWCA of Nashville & Middle Tennessee is hosting a lunch and learn panel featuring Scarritt Bennett Director of Racial Justice Ministries Rev. Kelli X entitled Faith, Spirituality, and Social Justice: Honoring the Past, Shaping the Future.
The lunch and learn will take place at the YWCA campus, 1608 Woodmont Blvd., Nashville, TN 37212 from 12 p.m. until 1:30 p.m., include lunch, feature interactive elements and a Q&A.

In addition to Rev. Kelli X, panelists include Chief Advancement Officer of American Baptist College Phyllis Qualls, Ed.D; Senior Pastor of Watson Grove Baptist Church Rev. Dr. John Faison Sr.; and Taqiyyah Elliot, M.Ed., MDiv who serves with the Department of Religion at Vanderbilt University.
Faith, Spirituality, and Social Justice: Honoring the Past, Shaping the Future will explore the integral role of faith and spirituality in social justice movements throughout history, the present state of faith-driven activism, and visions for a more just future. By gathering leaders from various faiths and spiritual traditions, we aim to foster a rich, inclusive dialogue on how diverse beliefs can contribute to ongoing social change.
This is the newest installment of the YWCA’s Stand Against Injustice monthly lunch& learn series which explores how race and the legacy of discrimination continue to affect our lives – whether in our everyday interactions with others at work, school, or in our neighborhoods and communities.
