Tuesdays in the Chapel

Tuesdays in the Chapel is Scarritt Bennett Center’s weekly 35-minute worship service. Hosted by the Soul Work program, this service is offered each Tuesday at 12:30pm in our historic Wightman Chapel (campus map). Each chapel service includes preaching, scripture, prayer, music and features guest preachers from a variety of backgrounds and faiths.

Join us for a midweek Sabbath break that provides peaceful space for renewal and spiritual refreshment.

Tuesdays in the Chapel welcomes in-person worshipers in Wightman Chapel and streams live online. Recordings of previous services, as well as feeds to upcoming livestreams, can be found on our Facebook page and YouTube channel.

About Rev. Dan Camp:

Rev. Dan Camp is currently the Tennessee River District Superintendent of the Tennessee-Western Kentucky Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. He grew up in Norcross, Georgia and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Management from the Georgia Institute of Technology (1980) and a Master of Divinity from Memphis Theological Seminary, Summa Cum Laude (1999).

Dan is originally from Norcross, Georgia. He spent the first twenty years of his working life in the convention hotel business as a Human Resources Director and General Manager of Hilton and Ramada Plaza Hotels. He has served the United Methodist Church as a Pastor and a District Superintendent in the legacy Memphis Conference since 1998 serving churches including Germantown (Memphis), Milan, Jackson First and Covington First United Methodist Churches. He loves people and enjoys helping them deeply connect them with the life of the church.

He holds the designation of Certified Hotel Administrator and is a trained Tennessee Rule 31 family mediator. He is married to Lane Gardner Camp and they have two adult children. Whitney Camp Picard (Daniel) who lives in Oakton, Virginia and “J.D.” (Krista) Camp who lives in Los Angeles, California and Whitney Picard (Daniel) who lives in Oakton, Virginia. His hobbies include restoring vintage Chevys, travel and spending as much time as possible with his grandchildren in Northern Virginia.
