What to Expect: The Parent Conversation

Black women deserve the freedom to live and enjoy motherhood.

Black women die from complications of pregnancy and childbirth more than twice as much as their white counterparts regardless of class and educational level. Meharry Medical College, Metro Public Health Department, New Life Center, and Scarritt Bennett Center are partnering to lower this rate and answer the question, “What to expect?”

  • Separate workshops for mothers and fathers curated to develop their skills of advocacy and support.
  • Panel of medical experts and parents who’ve had to advocate for themselves.
