**Young Artist Emma Marasigan to Unveil Multimedia Art Installation “Speak The Unspoken” at Scarritt Bennett Center**

**Nashville, TN** – The Scarritt Bennett Center is proud to announce the upcoming art installation “Speak The Unspoken” by 18-year-old artist Emma Marasigan. The exhibition, showcasing a diverse array of multimedia artworks, will run from June 23, 2024, to July 31, 2024, at the Laskey Art Gallery. An opening reception will be held on July 6, 2024, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. to celebrate the artist and her thought-provoking collection as well as her graduation from high school and transition to undergraduate studies.

Emma Marasigan’s artistic journey has been marked by her exploration of various mediums, including painting, mixed media, embroidery, ceramics, sculpture, printmaking, and drawing with graphite, ink, and colored pencil. Her work delves into deeply personal and universal themes such as anxiety, depression, her motor-tic disorder, diversity, mourning, and beauty. Through her art, Emma aims to create pieces that not only provoke thought but also resonate with those who feel unheard.

“Speak The Unspoken” reflects Emma’s journey of self-discovery and artistic experimentation. Her goal has been to utilize every medium available to her to express her perspective on the world, her coping mechanisms, and her desire to impact others positively through her art. As she transitions into the next phase of her life, Emma hopes to carry forward this perspective, continuing to touch lives with her creative expression.

The Scarritt Bennett Center invites the community to join in the opening reception on July 6th to meet Emma Marasigan and experience her compelling multimedia collection. This event offers a unique opportunity to engage with the artist and gain insight into the themes and inspirations behind her work.
