In the poet
K. H. A. O. S.
We have a mixture of old school storyteller and modern day griot
His body of work run the gambit
From the horrors of war , recounting his experiences of Vietnam and its after effects
In which He examines up close
The phenomenon of addiction and alcohol abuse that befell he & many of his fellow vets
To his involvement in the civil rights movement in America
Right up to today’s activism in the struggle for justice for his people
He serves on the board of a grassroots activist group called
Gideon’s Army for defense of children
They advocate for the reformation of the criminal justice system
Their goal is to dismantle the school to prison pipeline
To call for accountability
And provide the use of restorative justice in our courts
They also call for acquired immunity to be removed for police officers who have been charged with abuse of power , violation of civil rights,
Or
other felony offenses
He calls himself an oral historian
As his poems and stories often detail glimpses into historical events that took place In past times
As well as today
K. H. A. O. S
Almost gleefully leads us through his youth as a black man born and raised in a racist systemic bigotry laden Jim Crow south
Even though there are many heart wrenching tales of evil and horrific stories shared
He seems to have emerged in tact to share these facts with us in works such as :
War stories & Drug tales
East side storytelling
And now comes the book
KHAOTIC VERSE
MUSINGS
Plus many videos published on YouTube and Facebook
Collectively all his works are entitled
KHAOTIC VERSE
some which are periodically displayed on his Facebook blog
By the same name
He is fond of the phrases
Stay focused
Stay blessed
Every day is a good day
And
I see the God in. You
Peace
