Donna Whitney began writing poetry more or less by accident in 2018. Her work is published in the 2021 anthology Sinew: 10 Years of Poetry in the Brew and in the on-line journal Justice Unbound. She is a retired neurologist and college professor (full disclosure – adjunct) and is an ordained Christian minister serving on the pastoral staff of Metropolitan Interdenominational Church in Nashville. Her self-published Devotional Readings for the National Week of Prayer For The Healing of HIV/AIDS honors the decades-long ministry of her congregation in advocacy and in service to persons living with HIV. The book was created in collaboration with Nashville artist AnDrew Morrison, whose exhibit will be featured in the gallery at Scarritt Bennett later this summer. Donna has two daughters and two granddaughters, all of whom are funny and brilliant and light up the world.
