Adria Bernardi is a writer and translator whose novel, Benefit Street, was awarded the 2021 FC2 Catherine Doctorow Innovative Fiction Award. She is the author of two novels, a short story collection, a collection of literary essays, an oral history, and eight translations from the Italian. She’s been awarded the Bakeless Prize for Fiction, the Drue Heinz Literature Prize, and the Raiziss/DePalchi Translation Award.  She lives in Nashville.

The purpose of Poet’s Corner is to provide an opportunity for local poets to read their work in an informal setting and be in dialogue with the in-person audience. The readings are from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Bennett Hall Parlor at Scarritt Bennett Center (campus map). The presentation includes questions / conversation with the audience. In addition, we are now able to take Poet’s Corner to a broader audience by live-streaming on Facebook and on our YouTube channel. The recordings will also be posted on the Scarritt Bennett YouTube  page for further viewing.
