Join us for a beautiful experience of dance and spoken word performance in Wightman Chapel at Scarritt Bennett Center Friday, October 14 at 7:00 p.m. This event, especially created for Scarritt Bennett by Shabaz Ujima and Thea Jones of Shackled Feet Dancers, is an exciting experience of movement drawing us into a story of celebration, struggle and what is yet to be.
From the Middle Passage to the Present, we traverse through space and time breathing life into the stories of our ancestors. Utilizing movement, song and spoken word, we honor and celebrate the trailblazers who boldly cleared the path for us. So, like the Solstice Sun, we may rise and be suspended in significance and synergism, illuminating collective light over our communities and beyond.
Scarritt Bennett Center is an alcohol-free, firearm-free, smoke-free venue
