About the Retreat Leaders
Rev. Dr. Paula Broussard Smith is Senior Pastor at Gordon Memorial UMC, as well as the founder of Steal Away Women, LLC., and a holistic health expert. Throughout her life and career, Rev. Dr. Smith has always been passionate about being a force for good. Rev. Dr. Smith uses her faith and background in the health and wellness industry in order to empower people to live a better, healthier life. Most notably, Rev. Dr. combines the perks and insights of Western medicine with a biblical perspective. This unique dichotomy enables her to provide people with a full-rounded holistic approach, targeting not only the body but also the mind and spirit of people. Integrating her experience as a licensed physical therapist and ordained elder in ministry uniquely qualifies Rev. Dr. Smith to work at the intersection of Faith and health with people of all walks of life. While she works extensively in the area, she is committed to helping people throughout the nation, and she aims to hopefully expand throughout the United States in the near future.
Rev. Dr. Kim McLean is a songwriter-singer…in that order. Her songwriting has garnered her credits by Tim McGraw, Trisha Yearwood, Lee Ann Womack, Pam Tillis, and more. McLean’s music has surpassed the limits of country to a Dove Award-winning song in gospel music, along with several gospel Grammy-nominated projects that bear her songs. McLean’s music has been heard on CBS’ Cold Case, NBC’s West Wing, and ABC’s Hope & Faith, just to name a few. McLean also holds an M.A. in Religion and is ordained in the Church of the Nazarene. She earned her doctorate in 2018 and is pioneering research in creativity. She is currently the Director of Songwriting at Trevecca University in Nashville.
Rev. Marie C. King, M.Div., B.S.N., B.A., is an ordained clergy member in the Tennessee Conference of The United Methodist Church and a Faith Community Nurse.
