Mimi is a former modern dancer, dance teacher, and biomechanics coach. When her daughters were born she returned to her first love: horses. She went back to college to expand her teaching skills to include horseback riding and became certified in Centered Riding, then moved to Franklin, TN, where Mimi and her family established Rowantree Farm. During that time, Mimi was composing poems and stories. Now, Mimi and her husband Sokrates live on Music Row and their daughters and their families are living in Nashville and Atlanta. For the first time in December of 2020, Mimi read selections from her first book, The Forest for the Trees (YBR Publishing) for Scarritt Bennett Center’s Poet’s Corner. A second book created in collaboration with a wildlife photographer about Radnor Lake is in process. Selections from her third book will be read for Poet’s Corner in February.
