Join Scarritt Bennett Center, Steal Away Women, and the Health and Wellness Committee of The Tennessee-Western Kentucky Conference of The United Methodist Church for “Holiday Blues and Jazz Worship Service”.
The holiday season is a time for joy and being with family and friends. However, for many the holiday season may not be “the most wonderful time of the year.” Instead of being joyful, some experience increased stress, loneliness, depression, or anxiety.
“Holiday Blues and Jazz Worship Service” provides a time of worship that recognizes the struggles many people face during this season, offering to our community a means to tend your soul during the holidays.
The service will be from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., and include an inspiring and uplifting holiday message from Rev. Dr. Sheila Peters, as well as jazz worship music provided by musicians Kevin Madill and Connye Florance, and a dance expression to “Let There Be Peace On Earth” by the liturgical dancers of Gordon Memorial United Methodist Church. Area agencies and organizations will be available from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. to provide resources for mental health and substance abuse. And each guest will receive a gift.
