Scarritt Bennett Family Day: Building Strengths-Based Families through Song, Story, Script, and Stage
Scarritt Bennett Center is hosting Building Strengths-Based Families Through Song, Story, Script, and Stage on Saturday, Oct 31, 2026—a one-day, family-centered arts experience designed to help families identify and build on their strengths through creative workshops. Participants will engage in arts exploration such as music, storytelling, theater and performance, create together across multiple sessions, and then share their work in a closing community showcase in Harambee Auditorium.
Community-Supported Family Admission:
- $35 (Access) – For families who need a lower cost to participate. Includes 5 tickets, one ticket per family member.
- $70 (Standard) – Covers the true cost of programming for your family. Includes 5 tickets, one ticket per family member.
- $100 (Sponsor) per family. – Helps another family attend and strengthens the event. Includes 5 tickets, one ticket per family member.
- Optional lunch add-on: $18 per person (or bring your own lunch).
- Free Closing Community Family Showcase: Registration is free and recommended, but not required.
NOTE: A family can purchase up to 2 community-supported family admissions (totaling a maximum of 10 people) per admission type. We will have a maximum total admission of 30 community-supported family admissions for the whole event. Register early if you need the Access Rate as those available slots are limited and likely to go quickly.

What to expect:
- A welcoming, intergenerational environment where children and adults create side-by-side
- A strengths-based approach that helps families notice and build on what’s already strong
- Multiple workshop experiences plus a dedicated rehearsal/practice block to prepare for the showcase
- A closing community showcase featuring family-created work that is open to the public. So invite your family and friends to the show! We’ll also have guest professional artists perform to close out the event.
