Unstoppable! Scarritt Bennett Represents at UWF Assembly 2026
Scarritt Bennett Center staff joined 3,000 women who traveled from around the world to be a part of United Women in Faith (UWF) Assembly 2026, themed Dream it! Believe it! Do it! To say this quadrennial gathering was an event really does not capture the spirit or intention of Assembly – it was a homecoming to be sure.
Over the course of 3 days, we were swept up by waves of joyous energy that permeated the Indianapolis Convention Center in plenary sessions, workshops, and special dinners. Yet, we had the best time welcoming folks and swapping stories at our Scarritt Bennett booth in the Experience Hall. “I’ve been to Scarritt”, “I graduated from Scarritt”, “I got married at Scarritt”, “I always stay at Scarritt when I’m in Nashville”, opened hundreds of conversations we had with UWF members, United Methodist national agency representatives and of course our UWF colleagues that lead the organization’s national office.

Indeed, when you come to Scarritt Bennett you become a part of our shared history with UWF, who bought the campus in 1988 and helped transition the former educational institution to a conference and retreat center dedicated to the tenets of women’s empowerment, racial justice, transformative education and spiritual growth. Commitments we share with our UWF sisters.
Our relationship with UWF is integral to Scarritt Bennett, from our founding and on to our unstoppable future as together we dream, believe and do the work of building the Kindom of God.
