Talk of the Town Features Scarritt Bennett Community Lunch & Catering

Newschannel 5 host Heather Mathis welcomed Scarritt Bennett Chef Joe Irwin for a lively episode of Talk of the Town’s Plugged In on May 20th.

Chef Joe showcased some of our favorite Susie Gray Community Lunch meals including:

  • Earl’s Fried Chicken with stewed okra and buttermilk cornbread
  • Blackened Catfish with Lemon Pepper Honey Butter, mashed sweet potatoes and grilled vegetables
  • ChickPea Falafel with lemon braised kale and white bean hummus.

Chef Joe also brought along some appetizers from Scarritt Bennett’s catering menu including

  • Bacon Wrapped Pineapple
  • Strawberry Bruschetta with goat cheese, mint and a balsamic syrup reduction
  • Shrimp 3 Ways – tempura with yum yum sauce, pickled with remoulade and steamed with horseradish cocktail sauce.

Come to Scarritt Bennett Community Lunch on our 11 acre campus in midtown Nashville, Tuesdays through Fridays from 11:30am-1pm, and for Sunday Supper the 1st, 3rd and 4th Sundays of each month.
