AfroLatinidad Workshop Series
The General Commission on Religion and Race (GCORR) is excited to partner with The Plan for Hispanic/Latino Ministry to present a compelling webinar series on Understanding AfroLatinidad.
Held during Hispanic Heritage Month, this series is designed to illuminate the rich and complex realities of AfroLatines, providing a critical space for reflection and education on Latino anti-Blackness and the daily lived experiences of AfroLatines in the United States.
“Brown Church: Five Centuries of Latina/o Social Justice, Theology, and Identity” by Robert Chao Romero
Brown Church offers a comprehensive and insightful exploration of the multifaceted contributions of Latina/o Christianity to theology, social justice, and identity formation in the United States.
The eight session book study includes an opening prayer; an opening thought; definitions of key terms; key Spanish translations; discussion questions and a closing prayer.
The General Commission on Religion and Race challenges, leads, and equips people to become interculturally competent, ensure institutional equity and facilitate vital conversations about religion, race, and culture.
The resourcing hub, R2, provides practical resources for church leaders seeking to engage and embrace cultural diversity and anti-racism.
