The Radical Hospitality of Your Gift to Scarritt Bennett Center
This year, Scarritt Bennett Center celebrated 100 years of education and service in Nashville, TN.
A Century of Vision: Building a Lasting Legacy for 100 years is more than the theme for 2024, it is a homage to the impact this sacred place has had on countless lives through training around women’s empowerment, racial justice, spiritual formation, and transformative education.
Our 100 years not been without struggle, and we need you to give and ensure the future of Scarritt Bennett Center.
Please donate $100 and become a Legacy Builder, a community circle that understands and values the unique brand of radical hospitality we share where all are welcome.
Just ask Corey.
Corey is a shy 15 year-old student who participated in our Sawabonna Program, an immersive experience designed for 14–24-year-olds. Sawabanna means “I see you” in Zulu, and the purpose of the program is to create space for young people to see others and be seen.
Through Sawabonna creative writing workshops and opportunities to paint, Corey was able to use his voice to talk about the need for gender equality in school. He made friends and felt supported. Today, Corey continues to advocate and work in this area he is so passionate about.
Scarritt Bennett Center produces programs like Sawabonna for people of all ages because we know you never know. You never know what it will be that sparks a life of intention. A life of service. A life dedicated to the notion that we indeed see ourselves in the eyes of one another.
A life of radical hospitality.
