We value our democracy. We value the rights of everyone to have the ability to vote. We value that every vote counts. We believe when the people speak through elections, that decision is sacred.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][vc_column_text]Yesterday we saw white nationalists and other extremists storm and occupy the United States Capitol in Washington, D.C. in an attempted coup. This insurrection was an attempt to subvert the will of the people in the 2020 Presidential Election. [/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][vc_column_text]Racial Justice Ministries at Scarritt Bennett Center condemns those actions and the white supremacist ideologies that guide them. We continue our work to teach, lead, host, and collaborate with partners who share our values and mission of dismantling white supremacy. We believe in the power of transformation—and that no one is free until we are all free.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][vc_column_text]We understand the urgency of this moment, and we will persevere in our mission to create space where individuals and groups engage each other to achieve a more just world.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”12px”][vc_empty_space height=”55px”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
