Joyce Sohl’s impact on Scarritt Bennett Center and on women and men across the globe is immeasurable. Because of Joyce’s strong faith and convictions, Scarritt Bennett Center not only exists, it thrives as a place where women are empowered, ordinary people organize for justice and change, and laity find their faith renewed, strengthened, and transformed. Joyce’s Soul Work programs—such as Poet’s Corner, Tuesdays in the Chapel, and Vespers & All That Jazz—reach thousands of people every year and are central to the spiritual life of many. Whether she is bringing people to our campus or connecting with them through our digital platforms, Joyce is a tender yet fierce presence in people’s lives, inspiring individuals and community to grow sacred and strong.
