Vespers & All That Jazz

Vespers & All That Jazz is a unique worship experience that uses words and music from a variety of sources to encounter the Sacred. We understand jazz to be a process of making music; music which shapes the service and helps us experience the interruptive Spirit of God in ourselves and others. The style is experiential. Open minds, open hearts, and open ears are essential. We hope for justice, compassion, peace, and wonder in response.

Theme: Social In justice in the Name of Religion
Scripture: John 2:13-17
Music:”Make Us One” by Carol Cymbala; “Bind Us Together” by Bob Gillman; CHARLESTOWN a USA melody; “We Shall Overcome”, traditional; “In the Midst of New Dimensions” by Julian B. Rush; ACCEPTANCE by John Ness Beck
Musicians: Kevin Madill, piano; Matt Davich, woodwinds; Ike Harris, bass

Live audience welcome in Wightman Chapel. Attendees are required to wear masks, and seating will be socially distanced, per CDC guidelines.

Vespers & All That Jazz services are recorded and available weekly on our YouTube channel »
