Vespers & All That Jazz

Theme: Star of Righteousness and Justice
Scripture: Psalm 36:5-10
Music: KEEP THE DREAM ALIVE, Robert Manuel Sr. Hezekiah Brinson, Jr.; “God’s Eye Is on the Sparrow” by Charles H. Gabriel; “Precious Lord, Take My Hand” by Thomas Dorsey; “I’ve Got Peace Like a River”, African American spiritual; “My Lord What a Morning”, African American spiritual; “Amen”, traditional after Jester Hairston

Vespers & All That Jazz is a unique worship experience that uses words and music from a variety of sources to encounter the Sacred. We understand jazz to be a process of making music; music which shapes the service and helps us experience the interruptive Spirit of God in ourselves and others. The style is experiential. Open minds, open hearts, and open ears are essential. We hope for justice, compassion, peace, and wonder in response.

Per CDC guidelines, Scarritt Bennett Center requires all who visit our campus to wear a mask while indoors, regardless of vaccination status.

Live audience welcome in Wightman Chapel. Vespers & All That Jazz services are recorded and available weekly on our YouTube channel »
