Nov 15 - 17 , 2012
Scarritt-Bennett Center - Nashville, TN
In this retreat, our time together will not be about improving our photographic skills, but using photography as a way of seeing the world in a different light.
Photography can call us to a deeper intimacy with God’s creation as we learn to slow down and stop, to pay attention, to be patient, to focus our eyes on the world in a new way. It is about the present moment, balance, finding oneness with all creatures, with life, with scenery, and with God.
“The eye with which I see God is the same as that with which God sees me. My eye and the eye of God are one.” Meister Eckhart
This retreat is open to anyone who is interested in learning how to connect photography with your spiritual life. Cameras are not required, but will enhance the experience.
LED BY SUSAN HAY
Susan Hay recently retired from the United Methodist General Board of Discipleship in the area of Ministries with Young People. Now she devotes more of her spare time to pursuing her passion and interest in photography, which has increased her awareness of how photography can open one up to seeing God at eye level. Always the learner, Hay has taken advantage of going back to school to acquire better skills in Photoshop and Digital Printmaking.
