Charlie McCoyThere are numerous super-session musicians in Nashville, but very few with the longevity of Charlie McCoy. His session credits are literally a who’s who of country music as well as artists from other genres such as Elvis Presley, Perry Como, Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, Simon and Garfunkle and Ringo Starr.

Charlie McCoy began recording for Monument Records in the late 60s and recorded 14 albums for the label, beginning with The World Of Charlie McCoy. He won a Grammy in 1972 for his album, The Real McCoy. Charlie is a two time winner of the CMA’s “Instrumentalist Of The Year” Award and seven time winner of the Academy Of Country Music’s “Specialty Instrument Award”.

While Charlie is predominately known as a harmonica player, his musical prowess encompasses other instruments including guitar, bass, mallet percussion, keyboards, and various wind instruments.

He is a member of the “International Musician’s Hall Of Fame” and the “West Virginia Music Hall Of Fame”. In 2009 Charlie was inducted into the Country Music Hall Of Fame.

Dave PerkinsDave Perkins is an artist whose musical journey crisscrosses the map of American music. Perkins’ work as a guitarist includes playing bluegrass and swing with fiddle-great Vassar Clements, Texas renegade-country with Jerry Jeff Walker, singer-songwriter pop with Carole King, Americana with Guy Clark, alternative rock with Chagall Guevara, blues and jazz with violinist Papa John Creach, reggae with Mystic Meditations, and industrial hard-core with Passafist.  As a session musician, Perkins contributed to recordings by an equally varied group of artists including Amy Grant, Bobby Bare, Beth Neilson Chapman, Over The Rhine, Newsboys, DC Talk, Steve Taylor, and many more. Then, there were the occasional odd jobs, such as accompanying Ray Charles on his “3/4 Time” video. Critics called Perkins’ 2009 album Pistol City Holiness a blues-rock masterpiece.  His latest recording is the soundtrack from the feature film Deadline released in 2012.

Ukedelics

The Ukedelics are-it's probably safe to say-Nashville's best (and probably only) ukulele band! And forget what you think you know about the ukulele; Hawaiian songs will certainly be played BUT the Ukedelic's set includes uked up versions of a wide range of musical genres: jazz, blues, pop, rock and country.

The Ukedelics are the performing extension of The Nashville Ukulele Society; a local club devoted to the tiny instrument where anyone and everyone can come and play along. Find out more about club activities at www.nashukes.com

Mary D. WilliamsPowerhouse psalmist Mary D. Williams is truly that - "power in the house". Growing up the daughter of a gospel singer in Raleigh, NC, Mary is no stranger to the gospel scene. She lent her voice to the 2007 movie soundtrack of Blood Done Sign My Name, a collection of African American spirituals ringing with determination and truimphs of the Freedom movement. “When you listen to Mary D. Williams", comments Professor Craig Werner, musicologist and chair of Afro-American Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, “you’re hearing the voice of a great singer, but you’re also hearing the voices of the elders and the ancestors.”

Determined to keep traditional gospel music alive, Mary also dedicates her time to teaching students about the power, change and hope that this genre generates.
