FOOD FOR THOUGHT
INTERCULTURAL ROUND TABLES

June 28, July 26 &/or Aug 16 from 11a-2p (includes lunch)*

Food is a common part of all human experience, a way to bring people together across cultural difference and promote diversity and inclusion. Sharing food experiences is a way to pass down memories, traditions, and skills and create a more sustainable future.

Join us for one or all of these round tables. We'll work together in the Unity in Diversity Peace Garden, then enjoy conversations over a meal in the Susie Gray Dining Hall, sharing cultural knowledge about food and exploring how our relationship to food defines who we are, our connections to each other and to the environment.

$12, includes lunch - Space limited to 20

CELEBRATING OUR GLOBAL COMMUNITY

July 2 from 10:30-11:30am
Free and open to the community

"Unity in Diversity" is a partnership initiative by Global Dialogue Foundation (GDF) and United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) established in July 2011 to promote intercultural understanding by connecting a global network of grassroots organizations. As part of this work, Scarritt-Bennett has joined other nonprofit organizations across the globe who are growing gardens as a way to connect people across culture and faith. Through the Unity in Diversity Peace Garden, we work to cultivate conversations about diversity and global sustainability issues and to foster individual and collective action.

Join us for a ceremony in the garden as we celebrate and recognize our global community with special guest Peter Gorgievski of the Global Dialogue Foundation, Australia.

Pece

Peter (Pece) Gorgievski, CEO of Global Dialogue Foundation (GDF):
Peter Gorgievski is co-founder of Global Dialogue Foundation and Unity in Diversity. Dedicated to humanitarian progress, Peter's greatest passion is creating a culture of peace throughout the world. Peter leads the development of recent international Unity in Diversity forums held under UNAOC auspices in Melbourne, Australia and Thiruvananthapuram, India. Under his leadership, GDF has provided a valuable contribution in citizen diplomacy and further strengthening relations between Australia and India.

GDF Unity in Diversity uses 'dialogue' to promote intercultural understanding and seeks to work with all cultures towards preserving identity and cultural heritage. In collaboration with the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations, their objective is to initiate, promote and foster cooperation among the global community in a range of intercultural initiatives that aim to establish a peaceful and safer coexistence.
